Helping you plan for the unexpected
My mom was working full time, independent, and managing all of her needs. She had a planned surgery where we expected she would have minor limitations which she would fully recover from but things don’t always go as planned. Next thing you know I’m having to contact her health insurance carrier for guidance on her benefits, asking questions about various options related to some sort of after care post surgery, connecting with her employer to navigate benefits all while managing her present care needs. which had changed significantly.
At the time I was feeling overwhelmed at the thought of having to gather all of this information and how would I keep track and maintain all of it. The notes app on my phone was not enough. I’m a Medical Social Worker who knows how to advocate for her clients, but now having to do this for my mom felt different.
If you look at my desk you’ll find planners, notepads, to do lists and pens galore. So I thought to myself what if there was a place where as a caregiver you had access to all the things related to your loved one’s healthcare journey. A planner to help you organize and keep track of all of your loved one’s healthcare information including family medical history, diagnoses, healthcare providers, medications, symptoms and more. Have questions for your loved one’s provider? There could be a planner for that but it didn’t exist.
It took years to execute but it’s finally here and I’m excited to share the Aging Appropriately Planner with you. It’s for you an overwhelmed caregiver in need of guidance while also supporting the needs of your aging loved one in mind.
